Is it normal that i am 23 and can't tie my shoelace the right way?

I tried learning the single-loop method as a kid, but failed. So my mom taught me the bunny-ear method of two loops, and I've been using that method for my entire life, never bothered learning the correct method. I'm 23.

As long as your feet are secured it doesnt matter.

There really is no "incorrect" method of tying your shoes. As long as they're tied, it doesn't matter.

I say "if it ain't broke, don't fix it!" If this method works for you, I see no reason why not to continue using it, nor a need to learn the other way.

I'm kind of the same with multiplication (though I haven't done math on paper in years considering we have smartphones with calculators on them now). I never really picked up on the traditional method (my third grade teacher was also not very good at her job, so that may have been a part of why), but I picked up on the "lattice" method right away. Many people don't even know about it. Here is what I'm talking about for those interested: https://youtu.be/Lhy9-ITGqjw

I also oddly start my S's and lowercase f's from the bottom rather than the top when I write. I used to do it with my 8's as well (though now I just use two circles because it looks neater when I do it that way). I was always told that all of these, including the double-circle 8, were "incorrect". But hey, it gets the job done and it's legible, so it can't be that bad, right?

When I played violin in high school, I also had a weird way of doing vibrato (pretty much wiggled my fingers rather than my wrist). Somehow, I practiced enough to where it sounded the same as a nice wrist vibrato, or at least very close. That was also considered incorrect, but I made it work for high school level playing!

We all have unconventional ways of doing certain things, and if it works, it works!

There are no right or wrong ways, just different ways.

I've used the latter myself for as long as I can remember.

What's the bunny ear method and how is it different from the "correct" method (whatever that is)?
