Is it normal that i can't read my fortune until ive completely eaten the cookie

I will break the fortune cookie open and keep the fortune in my hand without peaking. I finish the cookie completely and then read it. I consider the fortune void if I peek. The next step is to hold onto the fortune and put it somewhere safe to ensure that it comes true. If I throw it away or lose it I consider it void as well. If I'm with someone who's about to eat their fortune cookie I insist they follow my rules if they want their wish to come true.

    I do exactly the same as you. I break the cookie in half, eat the first half, pull the fortune out of the half that remains and hold it in my hand while I finish the last half.

    Imagine my surprise when my last fortune said: You eat the cookie one half at a time and then you read me. We are watching you!

    I had an ex that used to do the same thing, and insist I did as well. We ate sushi a lot so eventually my wallet was packed with those little fortune slips!

    I eat the cookie before I read the fortune too but because I love the taste of those damn things. I can't wait to get it in my mouth. I usually look at the fortune after, say it's stupid and throw it away lol
