I think licorice is one of those flavors that a large number of people dislike. I personally love it, but I also hate peanut butter + chocolate so.
In love licorice but (with great difficulty) I can only eat small amounts of it because is raises blood pressure and I have enough medical problems already
I've never liked liquorice or aniseed. I recall reading a while ago that there's been research which suggests the loving/hating division is there from birth, so it's probably something genetic. Sort of like how some of people (and I'm one of them) are very sensitive to bitter tastes and that makes us dislike things like Brussels sprouts, black coffee and beer.
Unfortunately for me, my wife loves the stuff. She can't get what she considers "real" liquorice in the UK, but every time she visits her mother in The Netherlands, she comes home with kilos of the crap in her suitcase, and I know the house is going to be reeking of it for months again.
I like licorice, and natural licorice has helped me with my acid reflux before.
I didn’t like it as a kid, but then I learned about acquired taste as part of becoming an adult. I guess a lot of people never grow out of their childlike state of mind.
Very normal, as I know a lot of people who don't like it. I liked licorice jellybeans and such as a kid (but have never liked Twizzlers and the like), but can do without them now.
