Is it normal that i constantly think i’m ill?

I’m only 18 years old and I’ve been in good health my whole life but I am constantly paranoid about becoming seriously ill or dying of disease. The most common thing that happens is I think I have cancer and even though I show few to no symptoms I convince myself that I’m dying. Ever since I was a small child I’ve had it in my head that I will die young or end up sick and disabled. What can I do?

I think that you are very likely in perfect health. Wait until you're 45,or 65, or 80. You're at the prime of your life, enjoy it, until a doctor specifically tells you you're gravely ill, which will be extremely unlikely for another 40-50 years.

Yes. I think its totaly normal that you have that feeling. However it could be a mental illness known as hypochondria. I know this because i actualy used to suffer from it pretty bad i would constantly be going to the ER and making apointments to see heart doctors. That was primarily my problem. I thought i was just hoinh to die from a heart attack. Even though my heart is perfectly healthy. I think what you should do is just get on top of your health abd just make sure nothing is actualy wrong. Abd theb just remember that there is no such thing as just dropping dead. Ever since i have been pretty finr because i am working on geting my med degree and im trying to become a doctor. I think i just didnt know everything so I was worried about everything.

  • You’re a hypochondriac, you need some counseling.
