If you were a fan of course it's normal. It may not be like losing someone close to you, but it's totally normal and okay to grieve, and also be sad for their family and good friends.
Just googled image him, he has a slight resemblance to my Physics teacher barring Paul was taller. I had a crush on this teacher and having to separate with him was like a sad news after highschool so I know where you're coming from.
That feeling when hearing bad news about someone that you like.
Great guy and know in the street racing circle very sad he is gone but unfortunately life does go on.
