Is it normal that i discovered this in a dream?
I dreamt that when people die, they still have a consciousness! Because I experienced it within the dream.

You'd have to elaborate on that a bit. Definitely lucid dreaming is most likely what you felt. People also have outer body experiences, but neither of these things are related to someone dying. You could research more on this if you're interested. There have been people who have died but have been revived. Usually they say that they saw darkness getting closer to light.
