I'm a christian and celebrate Christmas, but I do not know why people who are not religious celebrate it. It's a religious holiday. I personally do not care if they do, it doesn't bother me, I just don't get it.
I don't have a problem with atheists who celebrate Christmas, but I do have a problem with this bullshit of people who try to force others to say shot like Happy Holidays or winter break. Give me a break! Ugh.
Contrary to what some people might believe because I am a Roman Catholic, and a bit of a redneck inside there are some people who are atheists that I love and respect dearly. I tend to have love and respect for people who show the same towards me... Go figure.
Which Christmas? The one with Jesus...or the one with evergreen trees in the house, fat guys in sleighs pulled by flying reindeer, & a baby deer with a nose that glows?
Because we live in the 21st century, and silly religious beliefs no longer mean anything to any intelligent individual. Plus, it's fun to receive presents.
I'm an atheist that celebrates Christmas. I celebrate the gift giving portion of it. I really enjoy seeing others happy. Also, I know people who aren't Jewish who celebrate Hanukkah, people who aren't from the US that celebrate Thanksgiving, people that aren't Irish that celebrate St Patrick's day, etc. The way I see it, there's nothing wrong with enjoying a holiday for whatever reason.
Christmas has become a commercial holiday everywhere I've been that it's celebrated. Even here in the islands the X-mas music began before Thanksgiving and the store sales began.
The christians have done more to ruin X-mas than anyone else, with their hypocrisy. They have brought the idea of caring for one's fellow man down to only 12 days a year. The rest of the year they are just as bigoted and selfish as everybody else.
I don't understand why Christians celebrate this holiday and try to reinforce the believe every year that it was their invention. Fuck them, seriously.
