Is it normal that i do this to avoid conflict?

If I say something negative or not particularly all that intelligent on this site and I get replies to those comments, I simply don't look at the messages people give me. That way, I don't know what they said and I don't get my feelings potentially hurt as well as getting into an argument with a fellow IINer. It's just something I started doing recently (Because I don't ever want to have a bad time on is it normal again).

    Usually when I read negative comments that are posted just to be mean I imagine the poster as a depressed morbidly obese individual sitting behind a keyboard while breathing heavily.

        Its sad to think about. That there are many just like that. Probably suffering from some form of mental illness. But whenever I see a blatant mean troll post I am pretty sure the person behind the comment closely fits your description. Lol squished the weenie with a cartoon like anvil.

    I don't see why you would allow any comment on IIN to hurt your feelings. Good or bad reactions to a post should not be personal, but a reaction to the subject of the post. If one does not post intelligently, then reactions to someone making themselves look stupid or illiterate should be expected.
    It only takes a few extra seconds to use a spell checker or a word program to check grammar and punctuation, and not doing so is pure laziness. An intelligent post will surely get more positive responses than an unintelligible, illiterate post.

    I've never had anyone here be a real weenie to me...yet. For the most part the IIN people seem reasonable.

    If I like their comments I take them to heart if not I just consider the source.
