Is it normal that i don't wave at drivers who stop for me at a crossing?
Is it weird that I never do that?

Is it weird that I never do that?
I always do, as I appreciate them stopping when so many where I live just barrel through, paying no attention to their surroundings and/or just not caring enough to obey the law. I also appreciate it if someone waves at me if I stop for them (though I don't get bent out of shape if they don't), so it's kind of a "Golden Rule" thing for me.
Plus, I just feel it's a nice gesture to wave and might brighten someone's day just a little. I also like to wave when approaching another driver in neighborhood streets or on country roads.
I did in fact tonight and was rewarded by an icy stare so from now on I won't.
I don't either. I don't see why I should have to, it's the law that they stop, why should I thank them for just obeying the law? Even still though, I do sometimes feel guilty for not waving.
PS. This reminds me of this joke from '8 out of 10 Cats' (skip to 8:15):
