Not like seriously, but if I'm out at the store or someplace and I see a kid running around and smash into something and fall down and get hurt and start crying it's really funny and entertaining to me. I always wish nobody would comfort them and just let them cry alone and they'd think their mom left them there.
I don't think so. Inflicting pain is abnormal but everyone rubbernecks at car crashes and what about all those vids of people wiping out? Japan has a whole genre of game shows with pain.
Exactly, if you want to rip a rubbernecker out of their car and beat them with a golf club it's like wrong. Same with little children running around in the supermarket, if they lose an eye running into a shelf corner it's just funny.
It's funnier when they hurt themselves but don't start crying until a few seconds has passed
My Dad always found it amusing (with other peoples' kids, not with us), but for him I don't think it was the child's pain he was laughing at. He explained it to me like he would be amused at the parent's expense. He'd "been through it" with me when I was little, so he laughed at these younger parents who were hopeless trying to calm their screaming kid down.
But when it came to actual abuse or violence against children, he had empathy for them just like everyone else.
I get really pissed off by children screaming and being uncontrolable and I'll educate my children really well to behave, because I can't stand yelling and I feel the urge to slap their fucking faces when they do that. Not really enjoying their pain, but I hate their noise. Probably this information doesn't help you at all, but I just felt the need to say it.
That's kind of fucked up. I mean, I'll laugh at anyone, especially children, if they fall or something funny happens to them. Enjoying seeing them cry because they are in pain is different though...
I think that too. But my therapist says it’s because I have abandonment issues. You might have that too, depending on what’s happened to you.
