Is it normal that i feel weak/sick when looking at the insides of the body?

Soo I just got into medical school and we started cutting up human bodies in science labs to understand the anatomy of the human body. The problem is: I always feel like I'm going to faint. My hands feel weak and I get lightheaded; its sad since I really do wanna be in medicine and people say that you get used to it but I dont have the same reaction to it as the other students and I don't know if I can be cured. Even simple things like feeling the pulse of someone makes me dizzy. What to do?

I work in a medical school and a large proportion of our first year medics are queasy. Some to the point of fainting. The vast majority get desensitised. The odd one never does and leaves the course.

I can sympathise with you because I was very queasy too but now I'll happily wander through the morgue and barely even notice the cadavers with their ribs prised open and viscera exposed. It's just meat. I know that sounds cold but that's how it becomes.

It's normal. I would feel like fainting when I saw an open human body, too.
That is why I wouldn't want to be a doctor! :D

Hopefully, you'd eventually get bored of the pictures, and not care as much as you did before when you're actually doing the procedure yourself.

That sounds pretty awesome!!!! But I get how you feel. I know a lot of other people who just faint at the sight of a little blood.

I can't really think of a solution to your problem, but maybe you can try to make yourself get used to that sorta stuff by looking up really graphic pictures over google or watch videos on it. I don't know if that would actually work, but you could give it a try.
