Is it normal that i find lying to be fun?

I've been called a 'pathological liar' before, and upon inspection, it seems to be true. I lie when there's little to no reason to do so, often simply because I can and it's fun. I lie about my religion, my name, I even fake accents and imitate people that I've met down to the minutest of mannerisms. I bullshit my way through conversations, and I find the possibility of being caught to add a little challenge and adrenaline to the exercise. I've also faked mental illnesses before, just to see how good I can be at convincing people.

    Sounds like your "faked mental illnesses" may be a lot more real than you let on, but of course, by your own admission, you are a pathological liar.

    I consider myself a good liar but I can't remember ever doing it for fun. Unless pranks are considered lying, but you end up revealing pranks yourself eventually.

    Might want to look into the career of being a salesperson, lawyer, professor, actor, system analyst

    I've known pathological liars and they can be hilarious. They say the most absurd things and expect people to believe them even though everybody knows they are a liar.

    The sad part is it becomes such a habit for them they eventually do it automatically and cannot stop just like an addict. Because they sometimes slip nobody ever actually believes anything they say and they lose respect from people who know them.

    I suggest you stop doing it while you can or get treatment for this because it can ruin your life.

    Lying is absolutely disgusting, but so long as you're not lying about anything too serious, I suppose it's no big deal.

    I like lying but I do it very rarely and not when things are really important. The ability to fool someone is something I have enjoyed from time to time in life.

    Being a pathological liar, however, doesn't sound fun. I like that I don't feel the need to lie most of the time.

    So, I wouldn't say it's normal, no.
