Is it normal that i had a severe phobia of glitter as a child?
As a kindergartner I had a teacher who told the class that we shouldn't eat glitter. I've never been interested in eating glitter personally, but I guess some of my classmates weren't really like me.
I had another classmate (we became friends off and on later, i still know her surprisingly) who thought it would be funny to tell me that swallowing glitter would slice up the inside of my throat and then slice up the rest of my insides, because, according to her, glitter was basically tiny bits of razor sharp metal. I believed her and developed a horrible fear of glitter afterwards that lasted for months.
It escalated to the point where I couldn't even eat chips without obsessively looking through the bag for signs of glitter. Christmas ornmaments became my worst enemy because glitter fell off them. And, naturally, I got in trouble at both school and home due to my extreme fear of glitter.
True story lol, is it normal?
