Is it normal that i hate it when people use the word 'literally' out of context
So my friend said "...and then my head literally exploded"
Then I was all like " well, you seem to be healing pretty good"

'Literally' is merely annoying, but the one that gets me is the word 'basically'.
'Basically' gets overused in the same way as 'literally' but it's also used to insult the audience of the speaker into thinking that they're too dumb to grasp the specifics.
Listen for it, anyone you hear using it is usually a dipshit or a nervous speaker trying to pad their sentences and sound smart.
Nah it doesn't bother me.
I literally laugh at their stupidity.
"why you laughing at me"
"you wouldn't get it."
I tend to find it funny. Really absurd situations are usually amusing to me, but someone saying these absurd things "literally" happened just seems absurd in itself. Double funny!:) I think if someone used it too much it would get annoying, though.
I hate this so much. My friend misuses it all the time, and I have to stop her and tell her that no, unless she's allergic to adorableness, she can't literally die of that gif's cuteness. I don't know why I still hang around with her.
I have seen this a lot too. I just think "wait that's not literal"? Some people probobly have no idea what it means they just like adding it since it sounds cool. It does not really bother me but I really want to correct it.
I agree! This reminds me of a comedian I once listened to.
Man #1- it's literally the most painful thing known to man!
Man #2- oh? And have you known much pain?
Man #1- Aye, I fell of my bike once!
im one of those people i use the word literally twice in a sentence sometimes. i'm a little melodramatic
I think a head of literature, would be a Professor of Written Language.
If they exploded, then they probably are a terror suspect!
