What music you like is subjective. I personally happen to just really really dislike rap music, and also hiphop, to the point where I literally puke whenever I have to hear it. This applies to all types of rap music, both old and new. I just simply can't stand it.
I don't care for very much rap at all, it makes up a very small part of my music library, but Im not against Anything rap... i mean they may be very few and far between on my shuffle, but there are certainly some rap songs I like. You really have never enjoyed even one rap song?
I hate the Futures, Meek Mills, and other mumble rappers. You missed 50, Chuck D, and Eminem, those guys are the gold standard of rap music. Cardi B, Nikki, Taylor Swift, Beyonce are all mediocre performers who put on a good show. They are trash, not one of them can and do sing a live word.
I'm not a big fan of rap music, but by the same token I can't listen to California Love without feeling good!

It CAN be normal if you mean this modern day "mumble rap" shit because it's trash. It can be normal if you're not black, because it's not a part of your culture so you just dont understand it.
It can be normal if you're racist, because those people hate all things made by blacks.
Otherwise, no it's not normal at all. Rap is everywhere, in every country, in every language, it's the most consumed genre on the planet, therefore by the definition of normal, it would be normal to like rap.

equating hating rap music to racism is belittling racism. I hate rap music too, both new and old, whether it's sung by white or black people. All shapes and forms no matter what it's even rapping about.
I miss the days when rock music was the leading genre. Even the disco days were better than this rap crap.
Yeah it's normal. There are a couple rap songs I really love though, but that's next to the 99% of other rap songs I've heard that I think are just terrible. Plus I then later found out that all those rap songs I love all took their beat from other songs anyway, and their catchy beat was the main reason I loved them (I didn't know back then that that's how rap music is made).
If you actually do mean it literally when you say it makes you puke though then that's definitely not normal.
Totally normal! Personally Im fine with some of eminem's music and yungblood but thats about it. Everything else just sounds like poetic mumbling at best

Why do people ask stuff like that? YES it is normal to hate rap. Rap is annoying.
What is worse though is around here, sometimes I see middle-aged white men on motorcycles, trying to look bad-ass, while blasting that horrible shit. They are not cool in the least.
Rap and country is the worst. Modern pop is alright but not great. Do you like any more modern music or na?

As you know, I am a child of the 80's. Some people, like me, tend to mostly like what they grew up with. I think most people who are beyond a certain age tend to say, "Music today sucks. Back when I was a kid, we had good music..." I could say that but I also know the baby boomers (the parents of us Gen-X'ers) hated what we liked.
The young adult generation of today, in 20 years, will say the same thing.
I do not really have an opinion on today's music. It is not my taste, but I don't really keep up with it.

Modern rap music is trash. I dont like rap but now they are rhyming the same words together. That's a shit performance.
