Is it normal that i hate tesla cars?

They look like a bunch of jellybeans, overpriced as hell, and are yearly at the bottom of the industry in terms of reliability and build quality. An absolute scam if you ask me. The only reason people buy them is because they badly want to suck Elon's cock.

My boss had one and had nothing but problems with it. He had to send our IT guy out to straighten out the electronics.

    • Yeah, they're fucking TRASH! For a slightly higher price, you could instead get yourself a Mercedes S-class.

I cant find enough room in my house to store all the AA batteries needed and keep them charged, really now I have read that you cannot charge your electric car in some cities, because of the demand on the grid. so if you cant charge it what good is it.??

I don't like the look of them, nor the weird design of the steering wheel. I haven't driven one, however.

I'm perfectly happy with my little Ford that has been everywhere with me!

In my opinion they have a long way to go to show that they are reliable, economical, and even environmentally friendly (look at all the pollution to manufacture and dispose of - and no one yet has a good disposal or recycling method for the batteries). Not to mention how is the electricity they use for recharging generated?

I see it as more hype than decent product.

Did you all see the video from Finland where a faulty battery on a 8 year old Tesla was quoted at 20,000 Euros ($22,000) for replacement. That sure makes Tesla's cost competitive as they age, not. (all the while articles are quoting a batter replacement at $5-$6000: Something smells fishy about those claims based on a known quote for a replacement).

I note that the article and video linked below has some technical errors.

    1) They did not use dynamite. They used a variation of ANFO (Ammonium Nitrate & Fuel Oil). It commonly comes in sausage sized tubes as pictured if its not being used in bulk. Actual dynamite looks much different. It is about 1 1/4" diameter sticks 8-10" long (I have a blasters license and have used it along with other explosives for metal forming and explosive welding, and can legally buy a case tomorrow if I had use for it).

    2) ANFO is a low explosive, not a high explosive.

The press likes to exaggerate.... for effect.

I'm not a car guy but Tesla's nail the futuristic car look.

As for the car in general every time I see one I always go "I never seen a coal powered car before!" Since that's 80% of the energy americans get comes from.

    • I personally happen to like Mercedes. A perfect blend of futuristic and old-school elegance.
