Is it normal that i heard a baby crying while i was asleep?

I stayed at my grandma's house, where only my uncle, my brother, and my grandma live. There's no babies here. Its quite impossible since my brother is 14 and my uncle isnt married and have no childs. Ok, i was sleeping and all of the sudden i started to hear a baby crying but it was super loud! It was so loud that it wake me up! And when i woke up i still could hear it! I have been into concerts and i swear, they were not loud as this baby crying. When i woke up i got scared because i know there's not babies in here. I tried to call my brother but it was impossible! I couldnt speak/ scream. When the baby finally shut up, i got a headache and my ears hurt. Why did this happen? Was it only a dream? (Its the first time it happens).

I had a similar experience when I was about 10. I woke up and everything was black and white and the posters on my bedroom wall were alive and talking to me and stuff. I had a poster of Bart Simpson and he was doing an evil laugh and saying I was going to die. I was trying to escape from my room but I could only walk a few steps and I couldn't control the direction. I tried to bang on the wall and shout as my parents' bedroom was next to mine but I couldn't shout and I couldn't hit the wall hard enough to make a noise. eventually I lay back down on my bed and everything went back to normal and I woke up fully.
I get sleep paralysis quite regularly and it felt the same as that but the only difference was that I got up and walked around during it. It could be the same sort of thing you experienced.

it could have been sleep paralysis because i had a similar thing happen to me except i woke up in the middle of the night, and i could see and feel bugs climbing up my legs, but i couldn't scream or move.

sleep paralysis or a nightmare that seemed very real. Sleep paralysis does not always make you paralized.

What part of it was sleep paralysis? ..OP didnt say he/she was paralyzed? Maybe what you ment was hynogogia? ..cus i have heard children screaming, demon like voice laughing, while i was in bed half asleep, and i think i can say that was closer to hypnogogia then sp.

There is a phenomenon, I forget the name of it, of hearing auditory hallucinations when you're falling asleep or waking up. It hasn't happened to me for years, but I remember it happened several times when I was in my early 20s -- I would hear rock music in my apartment as I was drifting off to sleep when no music was being played in the vicinity -- and it really rather freaked me out. It's uncommon but I don't think it's considered abnormal.

I heard a ghost story that starts with exactly what you have experienced. What? No! I don't mean to scare you! (:})
