Is it normal that i like franchises, but don't like the fan base

I enjoy certain types of shows, games, and books like the average person. But I feel utterly ashamed and embarrassed by others who are part of my favorite franchise's fan base. I would love to call myself a fan of it, but dislike everyone who obsessively enjoy it. I hate fan groups and fan clubs alike. Now I ask you again, is it normal?

I don’t bother with fanbases or fandoms or anything like that tbh, feel like too many people treat liking something as a contest to see who can “like it more” and that gets annoying.

I also can’t stand people who gatekeep being a fan of certain musicians or tv shows.

When we see something and fall for it sensing we like it because we manage to grab some unique beauty of it, which make us a unique observer. But when we see someone else with the same method, our uniqness comes to regularity. Which we hate. So we tend to can't stand same types in a certain area.

There are horrible people that happen to like things you like. It is unavoidable. That shouldn't disparage you or the thing itself for being great.
