Is it normal that i'm 33 and don't drive
I'm 33 and don't drive. Public transport has excellent coverage in my area of the UK though, so it's not a huge deal.

Not normal in the USA may be normal there. In the USA if you're 33 and dont have a license or a car you are seen as a bit of a loser.
I’m 29 and don’t drive and everyone is very happy to tell me that it isn’t normal.
I'm about your age OP and I can't drive either. Am also originally from the UK and we have good public transport too where we are.
Yeah it's normal. I'm 31 and I don't drive either, I don't want to for environmental reasons. If you don't need to for work, then I don't see what the problem is. It's one of those things that people think everyone should do just because it's socially expected, which is stupid.
I live in the UK too and suspect you will get a skewed response as many of our regulars live in areas where’s cars are essential or virtually so. If you live in a well connected area a car can honestly just be a money sink.
I'm 27 and do not drive. However, I'm an epileptic and they won't let me.
Sorry to read that. I hope that pharmaceutical companies can one day develop a medication which is powerful enough to combat all seizures. It must suck being forced out of doing something as opposed to simply choosing not to.
Luckily I live in a town where you can essentially walk to anything you need. I'm only about a mile from downtown.
When I got my ID renewed they told me my license was suspended and I got offended lol. I always associated that with DUI. Then they asked me if I had seizures and I was like, "Oh..."
Extremely normal. I take the train or bus saves a ton of money. I know people who think it's weird but I think they're weirder for thinking it's weird lol. Why drive when you can save money by taking the train? I can hop on a train or bus and go anywhere I want no different than a car
It becomes a "time is money" thing. The time it takes to use public transit is usually longer than driving. But I know the UK is quite small and may not require much time.
I'm 29 and dont drive either btw.
I absolutely despise driving. People in my state either just suck at driving, drive like they don't give a shit about other Peoples lives, or have road rage. "Civilians have the right of way? Too fucking bad I'm going anyway" If I have the opportunity to not drive and walk instead or something I'm not fucking driving.
I'd say not normal, but I'm hardly the best example... the car-crazed mf who got every license.
But with that said... even excellent public transport isn't really excellent, is it? You go to a supermarket, do your shopping. You still have to carry everything to the bus stop/ subway station and then carry it home. You are very limited in what you can, or can't take with you.
With a car you just pop it in the back and you only have to carry your groceries from the car in your driveway to your house. Your back thanks you.
Not to mention buses that come late, or early. I hate that.
Planned to catch the next bus? Too bad, your bus is late, or the bus you want to catch is early. Public transport sucks!
I live in Germany and I'm a part time bus driver on weekends and I can tell you again - public transport sucks! Buses are fun to drive tho.
