Is it normal that i'm 19 and i've never gone to the beach?

Seriously. Never. I've only been to water and amusement parks.

You aren't missing much, except a lot of sand in places you'd rather not have sand.

The furthest south I've ever been is the 45th parallel.

Have you never wanted to or never had the chance?

I love the beach, must have been 12 when i first went, remember it so well, it was my dogs first time at the beach too she was pretty funny because she kept trying to drink the sea water which ended up just making her more thirsty, we found a water bowl for her, while she was drinking another dog stood behind waiting for a drink, my dog laps the whole thing up, turns round and throws it all up at the feet of the other thirsty dog XD

Where do you live? Is there a beach nearby?

Pretty normal, I know plenty of people who have never gone. Growing up in Alberta I was fortunate to have a beautiful, crystal clear lake a block away, so I went to the beach a lot. When I moved on base, there was another beautiful beach about 30 minutes away from me. Blue water, white sand, look almost exactly like a resort beach. Now, that I live in my current location the only beaches that are at my disposal are sometimes closed due to "water contamination" and why would I ever want to swim there?

You might not be missing much, because to each their own. However, if you love water I recommend visiting one. They are quite lovely on a hot day.

I grew up in flyover country USA, and when I was 19 I'd never been anywhere within hundreds of miles of a beach. Then as an adult I moved, and now live maybe an hour's drive from the coast. Yeah, I've been to the beach, sand between my toes and all, though not in a couple of years now.

Save up some money and go travel to one with your friends.
Lakes count as beaches too right?
