Is it normal that i'm confused about why woman play with their hair?

I read that woman will play with their hair when interested in a guy (or for you lesbians out there, a woman). Yet a girl I was with (a work colleague) was playing with her hair whenever her hands were free. Curious I asked her why, she responded by saying it was a habit.

I believe that, but do some women actually play with their hair when interested in a guy/girl?

  • The answer is both. Sometimes it's to flirt and sometimes it's a habit.

But there's better ways to know when a woman is flirting with you.

I do it when I'm nervous. Not necessarily when I'm attracted to somebody, but when I need to make a good impression and want to make sure my hair's in place.

I actually don't do it when I'm in love, because I don't want to look self-conscious or under confident.

It is a habit. I do it quite a lot - sometimes when I'm nervous, and sometimes when I just want to be doing something with my hands instead of sitting stiffly.

Sometimes it is a nervous habit for some. But I do think the nerves are brought on by the uncomfortable feeling you get while a guy you're attracted to is in the same room.

And then of course, there's the people who just do it for fun or out of boredom.

My last girlfriend probably spent 70% of her time rearranging or touching her hair in some way. Her hair and her boobs were what she used to define herself as a woman.

I occasionally do this absentmindedly. Some women do it as a way of flirting.
