Is it normal that i'm in love with someone who doesn't exist?

From the past 2 weeks, I've been having these dreams where I'm sent to my cousin's house (he doesn't exist) and every dream ends when I'm about to tell him that I'm in love with him. And the feeling doesn't go away once im awake. It feels so real and then I wake up and feel lost. I don't function properly and always keep daydreaming about him. Its really bothering me. You don't fall in love with your cousin who doesn't exist in a dream. Am I going crazy?

    I have the same problem except for i dream I'm in love with this fictional character that i created for a story i wrote. He doesn't exist but he's always on my mind. I feel like i know him and he's my best friend.

      It's so frustrating. It's been like 2 months and I'm still not over it. I thought I would by now.

    Could this "cousin" possibly reflect someone from your life ? Maybe you're too ashamed or scared to admit it to yourself so you dream about it ?
