Is it normal that i'm sitting behind the front door using a public wifi service

I have lived in the same flat for 3 years and I just recently signed up to get wifi installed. A few days later I found out that I can get a wifi signal from the public city centre wifi service, but I have to sit next to the front door and hold my phone in a certain position to get a signal. Is it normal that I'm sitting in a chair now behind the front door holding my phone up to the mail slot typing this?

Yes I used to do this all the time, I didn't even know it was " bad".

I guess it all depends on how much you are willing to pay to be comfortable. Sitting on a chair by the front door, or paying for internet that you can use comfortably from anywhere in your flat.
I know what I would choose.
