Is it normal that i make a bowl with my hand, fart into it and smell it?

I'm watching Breaking Bad so let me put it into perspective, if I fart and just wait for it to smell, it'll just be like buying meth from any other dealer, but if I fart into my hand and then smell it, it's like buying the most pure meth from Walter White himself!
