Is it normal that i miss windows xp?

I've had every Windows version since 98. But there is one particular version that I have the most fond memories of and that version is Windows XP. Everything about that OS was fucking awesome. The sounds were kickass, the look of it was astonishing with those blue bars, it was reliable, etc. Even though Windows 10 is a quite good operating system, I'd much rather use Windows XP if it wasn't for the fact that it's not supported anymore. :(

I too hate Microsoft for removing pinball, loved the game. It seems microsoft's post XP upgrades are rather downgrades tbh....

I think it's more that time period that I miss, Windows XP is just a reminder of it for me.

Most equipment that has been mentioned runs on Unix. Unix doesn't crash. It's been evolving since the 60's.

I've always used Linux based OS's, mainly Arch Gentoo and Debian, and my fav DE is Xfce which is known for it's modularity and customisability, you can change it to look literally however you want, so it's popular that people make it look like XP. I'd recommend installing an easy Linux distro like Mint and get it w/ Xfce (or Cinnamon if it suites what you like), and dual boot it w/ whatever other OS. You'll have a modern operating system w/ great support and everything, and you can make it look however you want.

  • Last I heard ClassicShell is dead. The dev quit and he wanted to open source it.

XP was the best operating system of all time, excluding UNIX.

Nuclear missiles run off computers that use floppy disks, how comforting is that? In fact, I might start using DOS again.

Install Classic Shell. You can choose whatever interface you want including XP.

Trains in Holland run on Windows 2000 I think.

How often do they crash? (no pun intended) The trains and widows. Haha!

Microsoft has a disclaimer not to use Windows on sensitive equipment like nuke plants and the like. I think a high speed train system would fall under that.
