Is it normal that i randomly and unconsciously speak in gibberish sometimes?

I am not sure when this started, but occasionally when I am talking with someone I unconsciously begin speaking in this jumbled language that no one else understands. I know what I am saying but my friends recall that I was speaking utter gibberish. Sometimes I recognize when I am doing this but am unable to stop. It is as if my mind can't fathom English. This has been happening for at least 3 years and only now have I been able to recognize when it is happening. Does anyone have any idea what this might be? Is it a common thing?

I agree. You need to have a CT at least. Of your head, your brain. I'm not even trying to be a smart ass. You're young, this shouldn't be happening to you. If everything looks normal in the CT then it's, as they say, all in your head. In that case it's probably stress/anxiety related.

Sounds like you've got some crossed wires. Honestly that sounds like seizures to me... Or something along those lines. Are you sure you don't have a mini stroke? I'm not even kidding.

No, I am in my early twenties and in good physical shape. I have never had a stroke or any heart problems.

Also you haven't had stroke that you know of. Not all strokes are ground breaking, life changing events. It can happen in your sleep and you'd never know about it. I will admit you're a little young to have had that happen to you though. Something is going on in your brain. Whether it's a popped blood vessels, a slow growing tumor, or just anxiety it's in your best interest to figure it out.

I agree with all the above posts. It may be a scary thought but it's better to know now. See a doctor asap.
