Is it normal that i randomly lie all the time with no apparent purpose?

I constantly lie about the smallest, most insignificant things like what I had for dinner or what colour shirt I was wearing on a particular day. I never remember the details and often my friends end up confused about what I have been saying to them and I always just tell them I may not have remembered correctly or then I may have been lying for absolutely no reason. Rarely is there any gain for me to be had in straying from the truth in this manner, yet I always do it anyway. Never got into any trouble for this before, but it may bite me in the arse when I start to become more social somewhere down the line...

Used to do it all the time. Think about it when you're about to do it and actively correct yourself to whatever the truth is. Eventually it just goes away.
