Is it normal that i say "good day" before ending calls?

I always say "Good day" before getting off the phone with someone, because I've never liked the way my tone of voice sounds when saying bye or goodbye. For the past two years I've said bye on the phone this way whether it's to my boss or to friends and family. I try not to have or take phone calls at night because of this; I don't know what to say so after the conversation is over I just hang up. IIN?

I think "good day" sounds quite distinguished.

If you said Good Day on every single phone call I think the people calling on the phone may get sick of it, or think you're a bit weird. Unless you're old and set in your ways.
As for just hanging up - weird.

    Good day to you sir.

I thought you were young, because an older person would know that's ok for them.
For 19, I think you should stop acting like a robot and say 'different' good byes on the phone. 'Good Day' also sounds a little old fashioned.

        Good day
        And to you
