Is it normal that i spoon my cat

I have a fat cat that loves to snuggle, especially during the wintertime. Often, soon after I lay down for bed, she'll curl up by me. Since I usually sleep on my side, we'll end up in a spooning position. I find it comforting that she's near & I can hear her purring in my chest. Somehow, the topic arose with one of my coworkers. She gave me a weird look when I mentioned that I spoon my cat. is it normal that people automatically assume the most lascivious interpretation of any given topic, no matter how wholesome?

    When someone says spooning, I tend to think groin to ass. But cuddling is normal, yes.

    I do the same thing :)

    I have two cats and the kitten sleeps under my chin and the other one I spoon with.

    It's normal to cuddle up in bed with your cat. What's not normal is calling it spooning. I think in mnay peopels minds it has sexual connotations. Its a term best reserved for humans.

    I used to spoon my cat too
    She always slept in my bed so when i wanna sleep i like to snuggle with her snd fall asleep
    Her soft fur feels great

        It really all depends on the cat you know. My cat prefers to sleep on my butt, hip or by my feet. I would prefer if he was a spooner who sleep by my side or even up near my head, but no he has his own preferences, because he's a cat so I have to respect his weird ways.

          Instead of using a cat for a cuddle surrogate in place of a man, why don't you just have a drink with a cute miniature umbrella in it. It should cheer you up. Sunny skies, butterflies, and rainbows to everybody.
