    I do this too! And I like to say "...but they're ALL blue wires!!", then close my eyes, swallow hard and push the button at the last minute, so much fun..
    hasn't exploded yet, maybe one day

    I always do this, but I personally do it to prevent it from beeping. My microwave's door doesn't short circuit the beeper, so the only way to avoid it is to just open it at 1 second.
