Is it normal that i think 2010s fashion is pathetic?

For some reason, I can't stand the fashion in which this decade has brought upon us. Man buns, hipster beards, skinny jeans, unaturally colored hair, etc. The fashion is so incredibly, cringe-inducingly bad that people in approximately 30 years will be looking back at this era, thinking " Oh my fucking god, what the hell were we all thinking dressing like that? "

Yoga pants. I hate them. It's like you were too lazy to put on real clothes.

I love when women wear them.
Just not the one's who need 3XL yoga pants. That's just gross.

Regardless of their size or level of fitness women don't dress for you, they dress for themselves, their comfort, and own personal style.

          Says the woman who posts:
-"I think that the so called "beach waves" look like shit."

-"I hate those baggy pants, it looks so trashy".

So need I remind you, they don't dress for you, they dress for themselves, their comfort, and own personal style.

The only style that really bugged me was when men wore their pants half way off their butt. I wanted to pants them so bad.

I hate those baggy pants, it looks so trashy. Although I enjoy it when I'm watching Cops, and the perpetrator tries to run away, but trips, and falls down, because their pants are falling down.

I don't like it either. Some of the most ridiculous things to me are:

    A) That hair color where it looks like you have 6" of dark roots growing out from your last dye job months ago (I think they call it ombre?) It baffles me how women spend the money they do on this look when it looks exactly the same as bleaching your hair and waiting about 6 months, lol.

    B) Man buns (as you mentioned, lol). Enough said. All of them are ridiculous, but the ones with shaved sides are the worst (speaking of which, I can't wait for the shaved sides haircut trend to die, either).

    C) The eyebrow trend, where the focal point of your face is your eyebrows of all things and they stand out way more than they should. Like, black drawn-on eyebrows on a fair skinned, blonde girl. This will definitely be cringed and laughed at years from now.

    D) This has hung on from the previous decade (I remember it being at its peak around 2008, but it's remained somewhat popular), but the bob haircut that is shorter in the back and longer in the front. I've never liked it, especially the really dramatic ones where the back is super short and choppy.

Thats more of a latina trend I think and it was here before 90s/2000s.

I've been coloring my hair unnatural colors way before it was common. I used to have to order the colors on the internet since stores didn't carry them. It's actually nice to be able to pick it up at a nearby store now. XD

Purple or pink. I've also done green, red, and blue in the past, but I always come back to purple.

I don't think I have any right to criticise today's fashions since I can remember wearing a ridiculously gaudy floral print shirt with enormous collars, brown gaberdine flares and platform shoes back in the seventies.

I also recall the eighties. Some call that the decade that fashion forgot, but I think it's the decade that fashion took an enormous, steamy dump all over.

I actually love '70s and '80s fashion, lol! So much more interesting and full of color and variety than now, I feel like. I love the hair the most, so voluminous! I can't stand the flat hair or the "beachy wave"/messy hair that's super flat on top look that's so popular at the moment.

I loved the original winged hair of the '70s, like Farrah Fawcett. It's returned with a "modern twist", which of course is much flatter and more boring. I feel that the old hairstyles were much more flattering than the boring and generic ones of today (or the ridiculous ones like man buns).

Me too! It just looks like messy bedhead to me. It seems to be commonly paired with the overgrown root "ombre" look, which also looks sloppy to me. The baffling thing is the amount of money some people pay to look like that.

It reminds me of when I was teenager in the eighties, and how my hair that I had set with hot rollers would go flat in the Houston, Texas humidity.

    • Yeah, the 80s and the 10s are both shit, IMO. My personal favorite decade when it comes to male fashion is the 1950s and my favorite for women is the 1960s.

Skinny jeans are almost as bad as a trend in the late 80s to fold and tighten your light blue acid washed jeans around your ankles.

  • I’ve never dyed my hair but some people’s dyed is nice if done right. I’ve worn skinny jeans for a long ass time. I love jeggings they’re super comfortable. I almost always dress the same and it’s same I’ve basically always dressed and likely always will. I dress what makes me comfortable. I don’t fallow trends I just do whatever.

Some trends are nice and not bad tbh like I actually liked flippy hair. Not just any tho most guys couldn’t pull it off but I kinda liked it. Guys with tighter pants rather than loose was kinda nice imo. Man buns tho that sure knows how to make a dude go from a 8 to a 2. I like longish hair to an extent but when lots of guys had long hair in the back and like tucked behind the ears and usually with a hat on backwards it was just unappealing to me. I really didn’t like some of the trends that’s happen. Then again looking at how mullets were a thing is also cringy.

Idk when but I remember one point where so many guys had a neck beard thing going on. Like the whole beard pretty much wasn’t even on the face just around the neck. Idk what they were going for? Lion head look? Was the under neck and behind the ears to cold? I personally like beards that look like regular beards but kept up on and short.

So yeah some of this trendy stuff I don’t care for either and don’t fallow. But everyone’s got their own taste.

I never got the mass hate on man buns, to me they look no worse than they do on women. The exception is if he has shaved sides and a bun the size of a pea, that will always look ridiculous.

If a dude looks good he is gonna look just as good in a man bun, it's not preferable but they have to tie up their long hair sometimes
