Is it normal that i think all religious people are stupid?

It really pisses me off when religious people get so defensive and angry of religion. I'm not just targeting christians or anything. I am targeting EVERYBODY! People always find the need to insult eachother over religion rather than simply discussing about it. Now, I wish to give an example... I have been assaulted many times by religious people. We just have a conversation about god and such and I'm the kind of guy that always asks "What If" so its understandable why people get offended but not for them to go into a blind rage of fists and swearing. Does anybody else feel this way? Oh and please, lets descuss this seriously.

    i think its normal, but not all religious people do what has been done to you, or of what you witnessed. I believe in GOD but I don't belong to any group, i'm too open minded for that. there is more evidence that GOD is not real, than is. if someone asked me prove that GOD is real, i have to say that i can't, that person has to find out for themselves what to believe.

    and lets be honest, a lot of religious people preach one thing but turn the other cheek when the shoe is on the other foot. a bunch of hypocrites. and church doesn't save you. but honestly, who is the certain religion that knows better than any other?

    its like religion is the brother of politics. but seriously, how does any religion have the right to tell other groups that they are wrong when the very group doing that doesn't know whats true.

    i believe in GOD because, why not? and, "what if?"

    I have to say that, although i am an atheist myself, i have been verbally assaulted and harassed by other atheist because i give people the impression that i am religious. I am not very tolerant or open minded to new ideas that i think are detrimental to society. I am more conservative and traditionalist so atheists automatically assume that i am religious.

    Moral of the story is that people in general are stupid and judgmental regardless of their belief or lack of beliefs. People are pieces of shit because of their nature. There is no living entity in this universe that can equally understand or tolerate different concepts in an impartial way. Being equidistant means being hypocritical.

    Not all religious people, haha. I understand your view, though. There's a lot of extremely sensitive religious people who don't like to be open minded. It's very frustrating when you try to talk to one sometimes.

    A lot of religious people use their faith to better themselves and their world. However, a lot of people who are religious use it as a sort of way to enforce cultural norms rather than as part of a genuine spirituality. Often, it breeds close mindedness, but only in those who do not truly understand it

      Millions of people HAVE been tarred with a stupid brush.
      That doesn't mean to say ALL THEISTS have been. But millions of people from these groups have been.
      You'd have to be stupid not to think this.
