Is it normal that i think that high school was much harder than university?

I graduated from the university recently. I just noticed that I had such an easy time through it, unlike what I experienced as a high school student.

When I was in high school I didn't have time for anything. There was always a project or exam the next day. While the subjects at my university were indeed more complex, they were less consuming.

I have asked this to a few people already. Most say that I am crazy. But I think that they just think that life itself is harder when you are a college student and not the studies.

So, what do you think people?

In high school there is a lot of time pressure to get things done. The classes may not be difficult but the teachers aren't so great which leads to them either not understanding students or giving them a lot of "busy work". In college the professors are a lot more experienced and know how to teach effectively. There is a lot less "busy work" and the work you do actually helps you learn and not just occupy time (aka isn't meaningless).

My educational time at high school, was exactly the same as you described. I rather go to a junk yard than going back to that place!

I actually tried harder at school, than I did at University. University was way too easy. I did my dissertation in 3 days (12,000 words), started revising for my exams 2 days before them and got a 1st Class Honours. And for the record, I couldn't tell you a damn thing about any of it now. In one ear, stays for 2 days, out the other forever.

I agree with you in highschool the exams were so tough the type of exams were tricky and difficult but uni exams what is in the textbook is asked it's straight forward and once you're done with a course that's it you move on to the next as opposed to highschool where the exam included stuff you learnt a year ago. However when you're in uni you're more mature you learn things much quickly, you develop a studying method and you stick to it. The fact that uni is expensive you don't wanna waste money and time repeating courses you're bound to work harder and see it as easy stuff.

  • University classes are certainly more interesting, but I think only the first year classes could be considered "easy". High school is a cake walk compared with uni.

Perhaps the format in which uni classes are taught is a better fit for you than high school.

It's because you pick all the easy classes. And you're not busy passing notes and starin at that guy's neck hairs and shit.
