Top Gun, considered by many to be a true classic. I had gone all these years without seeing that movie, but since so many people talk about it all the time, I decided to give it a try because, why not? Well, so that's exactly what I did yesterday. I watched the entire movie and my conclusion is that the movie is one of the worst movies ever made. Looking at it was just like watching 110 minutes of gay porn, but without the actual porn. I just can't understand how this movie is considered a classic by so many.

    There is a strong homoerotic undertone, but the real pornography is in the movie's glorification of military hardware and state-sanctioned killers.

    What makes it ten times worse is that it stars wee Tommy C.

    I don't get the gay bit.
    But, yea. Weak ass plot.
    I've heard cruise was a dick to the real sailors during filming.
    To bad the navy only taught 1 guy how to dogfight.
    All is lost unless tom bails them out.

    Notice too, identical plot in days of thunder.

    Gay porn without the porn? Where did you get THAT idea from? It is a great movie. Maverick and Goose played off each other and had a lot of fun until Goose got killed. Maverick and Charlie (female) had a romance going. Where is the gay stuff you are talking about?
