Is it normal that i use the hov lane in rush hour even when its only me in the car?

Its winter so when I get off its already dark out and my car windows are tinted so nobody can see in anyways..I see car after car sitting like schmucks hardly moving when there is a perfectly good lane open.

What would normally be a 2 hour commute home I cut it to 40 minutes! I've been doing this a few times this week and honestly I'm going to do it more often, police hardly ever enforce this anyways and have better things to do than patrol the traffic jammed highways of rush hour...I mean police are people too and would rather not sit in traffic like anyone else.
