Is it normal that i used to think you had to be perfect to get into college?

In high school all the teachers made me so nervous for college. I assumed that you had to be perfect in every way to get accepted into one. Now I see that this is not the case. At the time I was paralyzed with fear, and I am mad that I had to go through that.

Let go of that anger. It's a waste of time to stay angry at the past. Just be positive and look towards the future.

Colleges don't give a shit how well you did in high school. As long as you have the cash and diploma, they will admit you.

    • Yeah, I know...I didn't know this then so I got panic attacks whenever I thought about college. I was paralyzed with fear so I only applied to one college that was pretty easy to get into. I feel like I wold have been much happier and more successful if I felt l knew I could choose a different school.

Well in a way they are right and supposed to prepare you for life after high school. No one can be perfect, but everyone can improve themselves. That's what life is about, a constant struggle to improve oneself.

    • I was on the honor roll and took advanced classes.. I feel like I could have done even better in school if my teachers didn't stress me out so much. Teachers made me so terrified that it negatively effected my learning.

I don't know. Everything I found on the career I wanted go into says you have to have a strong background already before entering college. Most children going to college though even the ones that were smart before going are not very smart though. The kids getting ready for college seem to be very unprepared for college. Despite the fact that is what they were suppose to be preparing us for all these years and they clearly are failing at. Either way most of us get forced into college weather we are ready for it or not. So we just have to hope by some chance we make it. I honestly don't think all people are meant for college.

Same story. Teachers often make us feel like that but the reality is - you just have to use your common senses well and confidence to get into your desired university. You don't have to read a bunch of freaking books to be admitted but to have your common senses and understanding.
