Is it normal that i've entertained this idea?

What if the Bible is just a test to determine an individual's critical thinking capabilities and is actually Satan's test for humanity? After all, according to the scripture, Satan was the one who gave critical thinking to Adam and Eve by tempting them to eat the apple. Doesn't Satan punish sinners in hell? Wouldn't that make Satan a good guy?

I should also clarify that I'm an atheist, but I found this idea interesting.

What was that line from the film with the limpy guy? Oh yeah; "The greatest trick the Devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist"

Some documentary I watched claimed that the bible's story of Adam and Eve was just another version on an old Mesopotamian story. Didn't look into it yet, but that version would have the original devil I guess.

Exactly. I say something along those lines occasionally when explaining my love of Satan to people. You say you talk to Satan and people think its weird so you have to explain to them that they'd be retarded without him.

So what happens to the billions who have never even heard of the bible, let alone read it?
I agree with bugsforbreakfast on this one.

    • It says at the bottom that I'm an atheist. I was entertaining an idea, it's not a full-fledged concept.
