Is it normal that i've never connected with another human?

I do what I can to "survive" interactions with others but it is always beyond uncomfortable. I've had plenty of boyfriends and a big family, but I always felt distant. I day dream of being alone living in a shack in the woods where no one will find me. I will eat home grown vegetables and talk to forest critters. I'm afraid for my mental health a bit however... is it normal to want to become a lone hermit??

its all good, nothing is permanent. you are very ok for feeling this way, its great to share too, but you aren't stuck. You will seek what you want, and you will get it.
If it's connection, there are ways to force yourself to focus on others, and be more intimately open, both of which foster connection.
If it's isolation, this also is an equally valid option.
This is your life, there are no rules, and ultimately you are the person benefiting from your experiences, it is up to you.

I'd love to be a hermit! Just me and some pets. Lots of drawing and writing and reading. No annoying family. No neighbours. No work. Sounds like bliss to me.

I love the idea too. But I'd prefer a partner to share. We could do our own thing all day then snuggle up at night. Occasionally say hello to the world, on our terms. Wonderful.

    You're just edgy, it's just a phase.

I don't care if you're the world's biggest introvert, social interaction is a key part of being human. It's thrilling on a primal level, and you'll never have a fulfilling life without it.

Don't be afraid to interact with others.
