Is it normal that i've skipped my period for about 2 and 1/2 months?

I know I'm not pregnant, because I'm a lesbian and have never slept with a man... But I have just recently gotten into cross country (about 6 months ago) on my college team, and so I have been working out almost daily since then. I just feel really nervous to be skipping my period, but I have heard of it as being common among athletes, so I'm unsure as to whether or not this is healthy. I know I am not underweight, I'm 5'3" and 110 pounds, and I have lost about 5 pounds of fat (mostly boob weight) and gained about 5 pounds of muscle in that time. I have a BMI of about 19.5, which is perfect for my height, so I know I'm in a good weight range.
