Is it normal that i want to exchange a laptop because of a tiny scratch?

Alright, I found a tiny scratch on the laptop that I just purchased today. It's directly above the trackpad and it's pissing me off whenever I look down cause my eyes just directly looks at that particular spot. *I DID NOT CREATE THIS SCRATCH/DOT*. I have OCD when it comes to purchasing new things. I NEED it to be perfect condition when I purchase something. It is definitely a psychological issue (as I've exchanged a purse purchase 3 times because of flaw I've found and now I just treat it like shit.)

Is it normal that I want to exchange it? Would you exchange it?

Note: The "scratch" is actually smaller than a period. LOL. I mean it sounds ridiculous as I type this but it's dented into the metal and the shadow just creates this dot that is pissing me off.

Is this normal? I mean it cost me $1600, so it's normal to want to exchange it, right?

WOULD YOU DO IT? (This is driving me insane.)

*Once again I would like to state that the "scratch" is smaller than a period. Or a dot made from a pencil.

Very irrational, I know.

New things should not have scratches on them so it's normal you act this way. I would exchange directly.

Sure. I returned my iPhone because the home button didn't click the same way as others. it worked, but you couldn't feel the click, so you didn't know if you pressed hard enough for anything to happen. They gave me another one to try out and it had the same problem, started to make me wonder if i was just being crazy, especially since by this point the guy was trying to brush it off as nothing, but it really bother me. I guess it was just a common defect that most people didn't care/notice. finally the 3rd one I tried had the click; but now that's gone. I've had it for a few years though

When you get a product out of the package it is not suppose to have scratches, marks or functional issues. If it does you should be able to return it 3days to within a week of purchasing the product. So its normal to return the item if there is something wrong with it. I tried return a product since when I opened it there cover was all scratched up and the cd was completely damaged. I really wanted a decent copy but they refused to give me another one.

Your next laptop will have an identical scratch, these laptops are produced by the millions.

if it bugs you, exchange it. but just know that they are probably going to look at you funny when you do because it does sound a little irrational (being that it's a tiny dot, by your own admission).
