Is it normal that i went to the same school for 3 years and didnt make friends?

yes it may sound strange but the first year I attended this school I was too depressed to make friends. since then I felt like its too awkward to not talk for 3 years then suddenly start talking to people. this is my last high school year and not making friends has made me difficult towards people. next year im going to start new and move away to the city then start a social life.
