Is it normal that is it normal is worth $69,000?

How is it possible that such a valuable site can be so poorly managed?

I donno, I suppose it's not outrageous, someone could do something with this place if they were actually willing to put in the effort.

He says he doesn't have the money to justify spending time working on it. Says IIN COSTS him money he doesn't recover.

    Yeah.

    • Hmm. If that's true he should be willing to sell it, at a much lower cost, to someone who knows what they're doing. I would gladly work on it for free, but it seems nearly impossible to get into contact with the guy.

Yeah. I told him that. He said basically he didn't feel like it.

He gets money from ads (viewable by those not logged in) and has said that there will never be ads on IIN when logged in.

He gets money from idiots who still buy gold.

He now has an ad viewable when logged in. Because INTEGRITY.

Expenses...domain name, servers, idk. Feel free to fill that in. Moderation at $10 an hr...and we know she only bothers one or two hours a month...

Just saying, in terms of Internet worth, 69,000 isn't much.

        • I see.
Well, I was thinking in terms of affordability as I know a couple people who might've been interested in buying it, and a similar site we looked at wasn't much more than $500. I guess it's probably the domain name that adds a lot of value.

so much of the site is not advertiser friendly and i am sure they also want to keep ads to a minimum. Very difficult to monetize this type of site and compete with other sites that offer similar things and have more of a name attached and other services.

      Could you give some examples?

        • Ah, ok. Thanks.

I never heard of quora until recently. I didn't realize it was so popular.

I figured IIN is enough different from yahoo since IIN is used more for psychological advice, whereas yahoo tends to be about factual/opinion based topics

I totally agree I think it's more that people won't know about IIN and use yahoo by default even though this site is the superior resource.
