Is it normal that im a female and i shave my mustache ?

I know most women get their mustache waxed or threaded or even bleached, but I find it so much easier to just shave it. I just wanted to know if anyone other females did this, my friends think it's weird.. Also, what are the long term effects?, will the hairs get thicker or grow back faster like men ?

    I don't think that's true( growing back thicker) but it can make the hairs feel corset. Why not get some wax strips or Nair?
