Is it normal that it irritates me that tom never caught jerry?

Now I do understand that the biggest selling point of Tom & Jerry was the fact that Jerry was always able to outwit and escape Tom, but when I was a kid that always irritated the shit outta me. Whenever I watched the show I was all like "God, why can't he catch the fucking mouse and be done with it? What's wrong with him?" Do you think these are some sadistic tendencies shining through or something?

    Tom's caught Jerry plenty of times, but Jerry gets away because he's clever.

    I always felt the exact same when i was a kid. And not only with Tom & Jerry. I also wanted the coyote to catch that annoying road runner.I always cheered for the bad guys. It's weird how instead of having fun when watching cartoons, little Crusades was always angry as fuck!

    I had the same issue with the Trix rabbit and Wile E. Coyote when I was a kid. At least Tom's inability stemmed more from true ineptitude (seriously, Tom. When are you going to learn to keep your tail away from electrical outlets?) than silly bullshit like "Roadrunners don't understand gravity".

      The Trix rabbit was especially troubling to me. Snot-nosed little brats can't share their Trix with the poor rabbit? Whatthefuck?

    Same woth Team Rocket! But all I said was "Why you need dat stupid Pikachu who can't evolve?!" Then, they were all like, "The boss is gonna be happy with a Pikachu like that twerp's!" And I'm all like, "NUUUUUUUUUUUUUU! You stupid! Just find a different one!"

    And finally, when they captured Pikachu, they just sit there in that ballon... Freakin' fly away already! (Now I watch the new one... The Meowth ballon has rockets that don't make it fly any faster! Just call Giovanni to pick you up from a fancy whatever!)

    Then, Team Rocket loses the battle, "We're blasting off again", blah blah blah, Pikachu returns to Ash! I'm like, "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUOOOOOOOOOUUUUUU!"

    I felt that way with team rocket in Pokemon, and also the eds in Ed, edd and eddy. I hated Sarah so much I almost couldn't watch that show as a kid cause I wanted to go in the tv and kill her haha. Same deal with drake and josh the little.. Ahem, girl.. That became icarly. Also, Sylvester and tweety, which now that I think of it is basically a knock off of Tom and Jerry. I hated that bird so much it would've been funnier for me to see Sylvester brutally kill it
