Is it normal that mumsnet only lets you choose two genders for your children?

Recently, I tried signing up for mumsnet pretending to be my ex-wife and I noticed that when I was signing up I had to declare my children's names and genders. The thing that I thought was strange was how I could only choose from Boy or Girl. I've got a child who does not identify as either of these and I think it's only fair to add more gender options. What do you guys think?

Frankly children are too young to appropriately identify as the other gender unless he/she is over 13, but that's just my opinion. Yes I said he/she. No I'm not a bigot. Let me explain:

    He's either a male.

    A female.

A transgendered male in a female's body. (thus you can call him a boy.)

A transgendered female in a male's body. (thus you can call her a girl.)

Stitching half an apple(like, a man's brain.) and half an orange(like, a woman's body.) together doesn't make a new fruit. Just a combination of the two. His/her sex is the same. His/her gender is the same. They are simply non-matching.

Maybe they should add one other option, transgendered. But that's it.

I think you need to a good long look at what the birth certificate says on it and than check the box that corresponds to what that says.
