Is it normal that my cat doesn't react to laser toys?

I always thought that all cats liked playing with laser pointer toys, but my cat doesn't even react to them. He just sits there and stares like "wtf is this and why are you flicking it around?" He likes string and mouse toys though. Anyone else have a cat like this?

Only Bout 70 percent of cats react to cat nip. Certain breeds like rag dolls and Persians don't have much of a chase/ predator instinct so it's probably normal.

I think what you're describing is normal for a smart cat. When my cat was little I got him a laser toy and he went apeshit for maybe an hour, but when he discovered that there was nothing to catch with his paws he lost interest of course.

Normal. I think I've seen a cat who was indifferent or unmoved by a laser. Over the years the only thing that I've found that has appealed to any cat is tying a thread to that twisty plastic wire with which you seal bread to. Instant chaos
