Is it normal that my cat never hides?

My cat almost never hides. Like ever. I've only ever seen him hide behind the couch about twice in my life because I was either using the vacuum or there was a loud noise from outside. 90% of the time he's in the same room as I am, and 85% of that time he's either in my lap or next to me. If not, he's either sleeping or cleaning himself on the couch close by or something. When guests come over, my cat sticks around and even begs for petting from them. My cat also has little to no issue with dogs coming to my house either. Is my cat normal?

    My cats don't really hide much either. When people visit they come right over. Vacuums don't scare them either.

    Laid back normal cat with owner who writes a post contradicting her/himself.

      The only time my one cat his was when a big tree was cut down next door with a loud machine. I couldn't find her and she was halfway stuck behind a cabinet( her butt is kind of big and she couldn't get back out).

        That's funny! Did you have to move the cabinet or is she still stuck in there with her butt sticking out?

    If your concerned it isn't hiding more chase it around the house with a electric cattle prod... It'll get the idea.

    Is there any such thing as a 'normal' cat? As far as I'm concerned, they are alien beings sent here to enslave us all.
