Is it normal that my cat scratches look like abuse?

A lot of times I get those unexplained scratches and marks on my arms, legs, and face. I usually shrugg it off as a cat scratch and go about my buisness. Latley though my teachers have been calling it out as abuse. They think that its abuse because I have been accumulating mre than usual and that I sometimes use bandages to cover the really long and deep ones. I even got called to the school social worker because of numerous teachers worring about me... How do I get it through their thick skulls that these scratches are just cat scratches and nothing more?

Damn, What do you have a bobcat? I can't remember the last time my cat scratched me. Maybe when he was little and didn't want to do bath time. Of course I never play rough with my cat.

    • No bobcat but a savannah cat (which is what we have) is closer in size than a regular house cat.

Omg!!! I want a savannah. I got 2 bengals from a breeder by me and she also sells savannahs. I would love to have one in the future. Oh, and I also have a lot of scratches. Sometimes it looks like I took a small razor to my arms. They never go away because when one heals, another is born. I suggest showing them a video/photo of your cat? If they see the savannah maybe they will change their mind since they are not your average cat. Not saying that savannahs are naughty mean kitties, they arent, but to someone who doesnt know they could look rough.

To be honest you probable couldn't convince them otherwise, but you also shouldn't be taking that much punishment from your cats... do what i do and smack their butt if they scratch or bite is should stop in less than 2 weeks then your problem will be solved ~_~

Yes. I play with my kitties, and one of them scratches my arms/hand up. My aunti had thought I was cutting, so I said; 'nah, just the kitty cat, ya feel?' and then she was all; 'ohhh I heard that, holla at chur boy'

Bring the cat to school and let the teachers hold it.
