Is it normal that my dog whimpers seriously loud when playing tug of war?

My pup is about 8 months and loves playing tug of war, however we can't play that with him since the last time we were playing with him he had a major whimper fit. It scared the sh** out of us :O It was so terrible, he started whining very vocally and started to hobble. I was really confused to what the matter was...we check his teeth and legs since those were the 2 major things that seemed to be causing him pain. Does anyone know what's wrong with my pup and IIN? :(

Sounds like it could have hurt it's teeth or something but I really have no idea.

Yeah, I agree it could be it's teeth. Take it to a vet and get it checked out.

Maybe you hurt its teeth. Try not tugging so hard. I would listen to shackles suggestion about taking them to the animal doctor. I dont know that much about puppys more dogs but perhaps the dog is teething. I am no expert though.

Does he have wobbly teeth? Should ask the vet about that.

If you should play tug of war in future don't pull so hard and let the pup win. I don't think it was intentional on your part but hold back a little like you would with a small child. Besides it's better not to play too rough cause you don't want the dog playing rough with other people especially kids and the elderly.
