Is it normal that my fat friend pisses me off?

We met in high school, and now we bond over supernatural/adventure shows, and Noragami. I'm on the average side of weight, coming in at 143 lb and I'm 5'8. I lost 50 lb in 2014. If you were to look at my friend you'd guess she was easily over 200 lb and shes 5'6. I don't hate her, I'm just frustrated because we've walked together but she quits on me and always calls someone to pick her up, she's tried some healthy food and comments on how it's not bad but she doesn't keep up with it. She treats cheat treats as everyday treats. I was eating a chocolate chip cookie from chick-fil-a the other day and she commented on it saying, "Oh... So you're savoring that?" No you bitch I was taking small bites of something you'd scarf in five seconds. I just stared at her nonchalantly and she dropped the conversation.

I just came because I hate fat people too and have no useful advice. 6
I hate gluttony too. 3

the part about calling someone to pick her up is kind of pathetic.... at least finish what you set out to do.

Maybe she just can't? Is she supposed to get OP to wait for her until she can keep up?

She has two legs, she knows how to walk.

Overweight people get out of breath quickly and need to stop walking: how ignorant are you that you don't know that?

These are very basic human functions. If you're out of breath, you stop for a couple of minutes then continue. What I hear is excuses and low pain threshold.

And if you're fat it will take you longer to get your breath back

      • Why? Being fat, as you clearly are, would lead to a multitude of health problems.

No, my health problems are caused by smoking for far too many years

Fat people can be very rude and insensitive yet demand tolerance and acceptance for themselves. Most fat people I have known well enough constantly dismiss smaller people as simply being 'lucky'...never acknowledging that a lot of these people work very hard to maintain their size. Slim people have struggles too and it's pretty offensive to be treated as if we don't put any effort in to our health or that it's somehow easier for us. No...for most people it's an everyday deal to not overdo it, we have to tell ourselves no and actually follow through and deny that cake and get up and go out for a walk while you fattys want to whine and make excuses for yourselves and ignore the work that goes into being healthy by chalking it up to 'luck'. It's quite offensive to assume someone just got something handed to them when in reality they work hard for it.

I catch shit for being to good at it and I hear some of the rudest remarks whispered that I'm pretty sure are meant for me to hear. I don't think many ppl appreciate the willpower and work that I put in. My work is 90% physical and I go to the gym at least 5 days a week.

I have a similar friend. It's a sickness. Sometimes if you can't help, you just have to watch in silent sorrow.

You're not her friend although she may be yours. Ever occurred to you she may have an eating disorder? She needs support to change that not spite and criticism.

If you can't be supportive her, as in kindly telling her you're worried about her health because of her weight, then just stay away from her

    • And so it's okay for her to criticize me. Okay~. Guess it doesn't matter either that I encourage her to join me all the time. And I had a mild eating disorder where I wouldn't eat for weeks that I got over through therapy. I say mild because I would still drink water and fruit smoothies.

Not Ok for either of you to be criticizing each other if you're friends: there are better ways of giving support than criticism

Heave Ho! Aweigh, the ship’s anchor,
lads, climb-up, the tall ship’s masts!
      Unfurl the sails white billowed,
all pray, the stiff trade winds blast!

      Men briny from white-capped oceans,
      Terra Firma’s, a distant quest.
Feel the salt spray, stinging the faces,
of the ship’s crew, tossed fore and aft.

We’re compelled to sail the oceans an’ seas,
with a plumb compass an’ a ration’s tack.
Tattoos an’ a Gypsy squeeze-box melody,
the gale blows on our ruddy backs.

      R.I.P. the sailor

Aye matey. A fine tribute to our sea faring comrade whose death makes our sheltered corner of the Internet all the more empty. Sail on in the breezes of eternity.

If a good amount of that is in your tits well good for you.

5'8 is tall for a woman so you definitely aren't fat, or at least fatty fat fat.
